Jánosik és Társai Kft. won the tender for the management of habitats under nature conservation protection in the operational area of the Hortobágy National Park Directorate.An excellent guarantee for the completion of the work was that the company's experts have already worked to the satisfaction of the clients in three of Hungary's ten national parks - Hortobágy, Kőrös-Maros and Bükk National Parks - said Lajos Jánosik, owner of Jánosik és Társai Kft.
The main task of the newly awarded contract is the long-term conservation of Pannonian grasslands and their associated habitats, which is being implemented with the support of the LIFE IP GRASSLAND-HU (LIFE17IPE/HU/000018) of the European Union's LIFE Programme.
The project focuses on grasslands of high nature value and their associated species. Active intervention and habitat management will be required to conserve the species found in these areas and to maintain rare habitats.
The LIFE project aims to improve and conserve the conservation status of grasslands and habitat types of outstanding value in Hungary, to achieve a favourable conservation status and to ensure their long-term survival.
Special attention will be paid to the preservation of the original condition and to the use of appropriate conservation technologies in the design of the grassland management. In addition to mechanical power, manual work will also be used. Everyday tools are the hoe, the pruning knife, the sickle, the hoe and the mower. In total, they work on 80.5 hectares to preserve natural vegetation, carrying out interventions to remove invasive species in several sites in national and Natura 2000 protected habitats. The net revenue of the work awarded is HUF 12.5 million.
With a turnover of more than 16 billion forints, the company's outdoor maintenance business manages nearly 10 million square metres of green space per year, on the basis of more than 100 contracts. The company mainly builds parks, beautifies private gardens and cares for wooded areas, carrying out seasonal maintenance work.
